CRP251: Fundamentals of GIS

This course concentrates on the use of a Geographic Information System (GIS) in a computer-based environment.  The main focus is on spatial data management, data sources and formats, simple spatial operations, cartographic representation and visualization. It is based on lectures and facilitated labs which will introduce students to ArcGIS Online GIS software. Applications may include: design, landscape architecture, urban planning, physical-, social- and human science, engineering, agricultural engineering, meteorology, architecture, archeology, and more.
